GuitarZ for KidZ

David Gilmore of Gilmore Guitars has founded GuitarZ For KidZ Red Deer in order to get used instruments into the hands of local youth and others in need.

GuitarZ for KidZ is a Committee of the Red Deer Arts Council who are making change in our community! If you have an instrument you'd like to donate, or if you know of a person young or old who would benefit from receiving a handheld musical instrument along with some instruction on how to play, please contact the committee at (403) 352-6111 or email guitarzforkidz(at)

Instruments that cannot be refurbished are being shared with visual artists who are desigining and decorating these pieces to create Art Guitars for fundraising purposes. There are presently silent auctions ongoing for 2 available art guitars - See Roberta Murray's Sunflower covered guitar at Sweet Capone's Red Deer location and Sue Barker's White Sharpie guitar at LV's Vinyl Café on Ross Street in downtown Red Deer.

Hi GuitarZ for KidZ team,

I just wanted to send you a follow up with XXXXXX.

She was over the moon when I gave her the guitar. You have made her dreams become a reality, and for that I’m truly great full.

I just received confirmation that she starts lessons this Saturday. I can’t wait to watch her grow as a musician. None of this would be possible without you, so thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart.

I will keep you posted on her progress, throughout the lessons.

Again, Thank you and God bless.
