Red Deer Arts Council Annual General Meeting

Following the cancellation of our original March meeting date, notice is hereby given that the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of The Red Deer Arts Council will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at 6:00 pm at Festival Hall, 4214 58 Street, Red Deer, AB.

Following the AGM, the Red Deer Arts Council will host a Creative Connections event with a screening of the 1-hour motivational performance that was commissioned for the 2020 Alberta Culture Days student presentation. Booming Tree Taiko of Edmonton will present a discussion surrounding “Overcoming Life’s Challenges Through the Arts.” (A note: With short timelines, this opportunity depends upon completion of the edited work with the artists and filmmakers. It will be available on YouTube later this month, if not ready.)

Pre-packaged snacks and individual servings of wine, sodas and water will be available following the meeting. Donations gratefully accepted. Please bring a mask to wear indoors during the meeting. Sanitizer and extra masks will be available on site. eating will be arranged for proper physical distancing; we ask that seating is not be moved – a volunteer will assist your cohort. Space is limited.

The Red Deer Arts Council is a publicly funded, non-profit charitable organization with a mandate to support the arts in all forms and raise the profile of the arts in our community.

1st Friday each month - Red Deer Arts Council's Kiwanis Gallery hosts First Friday Opening Reception for the current exhibition, sometimes with entertainment! @Red Deer Public Library's downtown branch from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Many other galleries in and around Red Deer also offer opening receptions on the same evening all year long. It's a thing!

2nd Friday each month - BRAVE NEW WORDS Literary Open Mic @

3rd Monday of every month (except holidays) - RDAC Board Meeting. If you'd like to attend, please contact Suzanne at the RDAC office for more details!

Once a month at the Museum + Art Gallery - ART SPEAKS Learning Series - a brand new set of workshops to help you better appreciate art and develop as a professional artist! Mark your calendar for January 22nd and February 12th, with another date TBD in March!
