Short Story Vending Machine
Project
As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, the Red Deer Arts Council is launching a Short Story Vending Machine! This new project will provide Central Albertans an opportunity to get a randomly chosen short story from a local author. Short stories will be placed into a “vending machine” which will be accessible in our Community Gallery downtown. Selected authors will be paid $25 per short story chosen. Authors may submit up to three short stories. The deadline for appearing in the vending machine for the first round of stories is August 23rd, 2024.
Artists chosen will be notified by email by August 30th, 2024. The stories will be printed at the RDAC offices.
Impact on the Artists
All local and regional artists are welcome to submit.
Gives the artist exposure in an exciting new setting while building the creative community downtown.
More Details
- Access to Vending Machine is coordinated through staff of the Red Deer Arts Council during work hours.
Artists will ensure that written content is reasonably appropriate for an all-ages public.
