Betty Schnell

Betty was born and raised in Saskatchewan, living on the prairies have given her a great appreciation for the vast space and beautiful skies which are ours to enjoy.

Moving with her husband and children to Cessford Alberta in 1960, she developed a further appreciation for space as well as our beautiful Rocky Mountains. Camping trips throughout the years of raising a family were sources of ideas for paintings to be painted many years later.

After moving to Red Deer in the late 1970's and with her family raised, she entered into this wonderful world of art. She has since enjoyed classed at the Red Deer College and now pursues painting as a career.

As a former floral designer and colour consultant, she appreciates the use of colour and what it can do for us in all areas of art, as well as fashion and decorating.

Betty paints predominantly in watercolour, however she is also proficient in many media including oils and pen & ink. For her, capturing the joy of nature in colour on paper or canvas for all to enjoy is the ultimate. Her paintings are in private collections throughout Canada, the United States, England, and Germany.
