About the Exhibition
The Red Deer Arts Council Gallery in Red Deer is holding a juried exhibition from August 31st to October 5th, 2026. Entries must be submitted to the Red Deer Arts Council by 4:30 pm, August 16, 2026.
Artists are encouraged to submit 2D, 3D or literary works related to the theme, “Thread that Connect Us”. This can be works thematically engaging with the idea of connections, people and place, people to people, community; or works engaging with the idea of threads and ties, such as textile art, stitching, quilt, weaving, lines, or more.
Artists can display their 2D, 3D and literary artworks as part of this exciting project. Words and images inspire, blur, and blend between mediums and expectations in limitless creative possibilities. This is an innovative opportunity to showcase art of many genres in Red Deer and Central Alberta.
Background
Each year, the Red Deer Arts Council and Central Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association partner to create events for local artists as part of Alberta Culture Days. For 2024, we’re excited to host the exhibition in our gallery and office space.
The Red Deer Arts Council’s community gallery's “Threads that Connect Us” exhibition will run throughout September. Visual art and literary works are welcome in this exhibition. This is an innovative opportunity to showcase art of many genres in Red Deer and Central Alberta. Be a part of Creative Red Deer and get involved!
Project
Artists must reply by August 16, 2026 with their submission. The submission may include up to 3 images of the completed works for consideration (including poetry and written works), along with the requirements noted in this call. Works will be juried and only the works submitted may be displayed due to limited space. Artists chosen will be notified by email by August 18, 2026. Art drop-off date will be August 30, 2025. The removal date for this exhibit is October 6, 2026.
