Carol Nault

My art consists of acrylic paint on canvas with black or dark backgrounds. The inspiration for my art comes mainly from my personal photographs and my creations.

I was born in Michigan and have resided in Arizona since 1973. I am primarily a self-taught artist; however, I took art classes in high school and began painting in 1966. Over time, I have become familiar with the tools and techniques of various types of art through my observation and experience.

Photography began as my hobby, and it became a means for creating my artwork. My personal photos consist of children, animals, people, flowers, horses, old cars, and whatever I find interesting. I also use my photos to create greeting cards that contain personal verses, and I often add my poetry.

I do not specialize in any particular form of art, because I think that would prevent me from experiencing all subjects of life. I have a great respect for life and the environment, and I attempt to incorporate that philosophy into my art. My main goal is to provide a special visual experience that people will enjoy and remember.
