First Friday Red Deer

On the first Friday of every month, join the galleries in downtown Red Deer in celebrating local, regional and national artistic talent. The galleries buzz with art experiences, open gallery spaces, social mingling and maybe some entertainment. Suitable for adults, youth, families, date nights, music lovers, culture-vultures and anyone who enjoys kicking off their weekend with a Friday night party. First Friday Red Deer is becoming a staple in the local culture diet. Free to attend.

First Friday Red Deer at the Kiwanis Gallery hosts local, regional and provincial artists in a wide variety of subject matter and media. The Red Deer Arts Council displays wide-ranging exhibitions of paintings, drawings, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media work and more, from locals or from artists around the province. For exhibit openings, the artist(s) will be in attendance. When an exhibit has already had its opening, the next first Friday a musician may play or maybe local authors will read.

Please Note: First Friday Red Deer listings will be posted the week of the event (or earlier) in order to give all the galleries time to get their information to the Red Deer Arts Council.

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association sponsors the Kiwanis Gallery's First Friday Red Deer events. We appreciate all their support for events and activities taking place in downtown Red Deer. First Friday Red Deer is an ongoing partnership with the galleries in Red Deer.
