The Red Deer Arts Council Visual Arts Committee works to promote the visual arts in all its diverse forms through a variety of events, publications and opportunities for artists and art lovers.
The committee oversees the operation of the Kiwanis Gallery housed in the lower level of the Red Deer Public Library and works with fellow galleries to produce a list of galleries in the Red Deer community and promotes self-guided art tours on the first Friday of each month. These events, along with an annual Open Studio Tour and the occasional Pop-Up gallery, offer the community opportunities to connect with artists and their work on fun, personal level.

“2020 Vision” - Red Deer Arts Council Visual Arts Members Juried Exhibition
The Kiwanis Gallery in Red Deer is holding a juried exhibition, “2020 Vision”, February 19, to April 19, 2020. Entries must be submitted to the Red Deer Arts Council by 4:30 pm, Friday, January 10, 2019.
We can’t help but draw a connection between the year 2020 and visual art. This exhibition theme is open to many interpretations and we can’t wait to see what direction members will take with this idea and their own artwork.
You may choose to explore your personal world view, the process of sight itself, represent literally what you see, a way of seeing or a more conceptual view or vision – it’s up to you.
