awarded to the top scoring submission from a post-secondary student.
This award goes to RDC Student Aimbree Bystrom. This award is adjudicated by the
arts council but is a City of Red Deer award. Aimbree is in the second year of
the Theatre Performance and Creation Diploma Program. She will be using the
funds toward Vancouver Film School's Summer Intensive for Film Production.
Craig Scott (left) and Ian Warwick, Alberta Foundation for the Arts representative (left) present Dianna Bouz with her scholarship.
The Canada Centennial Scholarship for Post-Secondary Students of $500.00 is awarded to the top scoring submission from a post-secondary student in a media other than that awarded to the Princess Margaret Scholarship.
This award goes to Dianna Bouz, of Red Deer, who is attending Red Deer College in the Music Diploma Program majoring in voice and minoring in piano. She will be entering her second year in the fall.
One of her instructors said of her, "Dianna
has worked diligently over the last two years and has be able to master the
many requisite new skills and concepts."
Dianna plans to use the funds toward a professional portable microphone and speaker system that would allow her to work at various events, such as an outdoor garden arts event at a garden centre.
